Hey babes! I’ve been suffering from a bit of writers block lately, which has stopped me from posting as frequently as I’d like. A couple of days ago I had the opportunity to visit the Aga Khan Museum; An exhibit which has intrigued me for quite some time now. Designed in a serene space with cool granite and enchanted lines, there was something almost theraputic about the place. I knew this would be the perfect backdrop to a high-fashion photoshoot but I didn’t realize how symbolical it would be until I received my photos.
Everything at the Aga Khan was sharp, symmetrical and white… When the sun rises to the perfect point, beautiful shadows are bounced off the architectural buildings carrying a monochromatic feel around the park.
I really began to understand the concept of concrete thinking when my definition of success changed. For me, there was no amount of money that would be equivalent to expressing my creativity everyday. Don't get me wrong, there's always those times where I'm working on a post and want to tear my eyes out... Then I remember what essay writing felt like.
Some people are good at public speaking, some at drawing, some like to take pictures and others like to dabble into music. I've had so many people tell me they don't know what to do or have too many things they like to do. The trick is to just start... When I was stumped on what I wanted to do in life, I decided to write a list of all the things I couldn't live without learning more about.
It read: Fashion, Art, History, Politics and Spirituality.
When I told people I was determined to fit them all into my career, people looked at me like I was crazy... And that I was. I found my grey area and made it work. Just because there isn't a career in the field you like now doesn't mean there can't be one in the future.
Until Next Time,
