When you hear the words drug abuse what's the first thing that comes to your mind?
Is it the cracked out homeless guy that asks for change on the subway? Or the vision of mollied out kids rolling to the beats of techno?
At what point does experimenting with drugs actually turn into a problem?
There's a pretty thin line between playing with drugs at a party to doing it every weekend. And you’re the kid who reeaallly likes going out. So, where does that leave you?
To be honest I wouldn’t know. Personally I haven’t dabbled much into drugs. The most I do is hit a couple b's and I’m good for the night. When I was in high school I was a tad more adventurous. Going out way more than I do now, I came across MDMA better known as “Molly".
The first time someone tossed me a pill, I faked doing half of it and the rest I didn't even feel. My second time was a bit different and I can tell you my body definitely wasn’t up for it.
After that, it was never a choice for me to stay away from drugs. I was already uncomfortable in my own skin and my fears of losing control were way stronger than any desire to get high.
The most unsettling part, was the fact that I felt like I was missing out on something... Why were all of my friends interested in getting so fucked up and I just wanted to lay the fuck down?
Officially, I felt like the odd one out (and totally knew how insane it sounded).
It took me a bit of time to realize that everyone's meant to lead their own lives. People pick their poisons and mine just so happened to be my work (plus some kush of course). And to be completely honest with you, it couldn't have made me happier.
I see so many people sucked in by social standards,
You begin to lose sight on reality, what it's like living without the high... Whether it be having fun sober or studying without adderal, temporary euphoria has become a crutch for peoples worries and doubts...
What's important is to deal with them safely.
The best advice I'd ever heard as a child was to make good choices...
It's just about everything in moderation.
