Blue Boy

This past weekend I had the opportunity to work with Duncan Thorn, a creative photographer based out of Toronto. Lately I have been going for more of a relaxed chic style. I'm not sure if it's the cold but I'm seriously lacking some motivation. So I thought this was the perfect, pick me up look. Aside from the illuminating colour of this jacket, I love the old fashioned look it gives off. Funny enough, the model who show cased it with Lamania at the National Women's Show, Madeleine Fay Heaven, was at the shoot as well. We run into each other more than you'd think at work. It's definitely nice to see familiar faces that brighten up the mood and setting of a shoot. It's interesting to see how connections made through the Double Tee's adventure are beginning to show purpose.

*Be sure to check out some of her work on Facebook.

Finding a shirt to go with a blazer is always fun, you have the ability to create so many different feels for whatever look you're going for. I love how all the colours tied together with this shirt, it created an edgy vibe and about 3 weeks after I bought it someone finally asked me what it said...

First off,  it gave me the pleasure of having to explain that I'm not a lesbian (not that it'd be bad or anything...)

and second... my unicorn brings all the girls to the yard.... oh hell no!

Lesson learned. Read your shirts before you buy them to avoid people questioning your sexuality...

But in all seriousness, I really did love the comfort chic feel to this look. Although I put this outfit together with a relaxed tee, you could always dress it up with a slim pair of trousers or a funky button down.

Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try new pieces together. Some of your best outfits will come together with items you never expected to work. It was really my lip colour and shoes that completed this look for me.

A little trick of mine is to try my shoes on before I decide if I like an outfit or not. Sometime you just need a little umph to get the style you're looking for.

Creativity is intelligence having fun, be smart with your pieces and shop well.

Dream On...

Well, shits officially hit the fan and we're only on day 17. I think I give up on the whole waiting for a fresh new year to happen. When stuff is good, I'm just gonna cherish the fuck out of it. We really are the authors of our own life and when things get hard, there isn't much to do, but tough it out. Whether you're in a good or not so good place, remember what it feels like to be truly happy and put it out there in the universe. That's really all we can hope for. Dream on but don't imagine they'll all come true, right?

Wherever you are in your life, whether it be at your best or worst, we all have our struggles and it's how we deal with them that really matters.

Double Tee's is one of the best things I have done for myself. It's something that's all mine... no one helped, no one told me the "how to's". All of that was taken care of because it's something I wanted so goodly (yup, you heard me... so goodly. My mom always told me, "Chloe, I use to say I wanted to marry your dad SOO badly, and look how that turned out.... so bad").

Even though I've had a number of obstacles to overcome, I couldn't be happier to know my risk taking paid off.

And on that note, let's talk fashion.

I am more than excited for all the little projects Double Tee's has coming on the way. A couple of weeks ago the talented Anthony Cohen and I did a shoot on the versatility that comes with accessories.

I get bored way too fast, and since I don't have money falling out of my ass to buy everything I want, learning to be strategic in my styling has become quite helpful.

Altering the feel of your outfit can be quite easy if you know how to play with what you've got. This is one of my favourite accessories to add to a look. The beautiful colours and patterns of the scarf almost instantly highlight the darker pieces. This scarf has acted as a shawl, a cape, and even helped me pull of the iconic Grace Kelly look.

My favourite look of them all would have to be the head wrap. There are so many different ways you can style it..... I simply twist and pin as shown above or by adding knots to the top (giving it much more of a relaxed look).

There is so much fun you can have with creating outfits while changing the simplest of things. It's kind of like life, why wait for what you don't have, when you're dream is now.

Until next time,

Show Me Your True Colours

So, it's officially freezing out here in Toronto. I don't care how much colder it is elsewhere but I'm definitely not a fan of this weather. I shot this look a couple of weeks ago and couldn't see a better time to share it while temperatures keep dropping.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of these pieces. First off, those star pants.... yes, I get made fun of REPEATEDLY for wearing them and they are the comfiest freaking things I own. Plus I think they're super cool. I got them at Lamania for under $60.00 or something ridiculous like that. I wasn't about to pass them up.

Aside from my crazy pants, this vest is one of my favourite pieces we own. And when I say we, I mean I couldn't be more thankful for having my mom's closet to share from. Mi Casa es Su Casa, right?

This piece is actually an item from the boutique she works at. Located on Unionville Main St. I'm sure some of you have heard of Lou Lou's Boutique, a great place to find more of those one of a kind pieces.

It was really the mixture between the wool inside the vest and the brown leather exterior that kept me stylish and comfortable.

THANK GOD FOR A NICE PIECE TO STAY WARM IN...... (serious issue of mine.)

I had a lot of fun putting this outfit together. Mixing and matching similar materials to give it a comfy / cozy look kept me happy all day.... And god bless these shoes... I'm usually a classic black boot girl and black was definitely not going to cut it for this outfit. They're comfy as hell but my favourite parts are the grips on the bottom....... It sounds crazy, right.

But I HATE that I can't wear half of my heels in the winter because of this issue... otherwise I'd be slipping and sliding all over the place. (Some of you might find that entertaining, me not so much)

Convenience is key when it comes to my type of styling. If I'm not comfy, its probably gonna be a fat no.

So keep warm and be sure to check in with Double Tee's shirts on the way!

FiHair The Salon - Out With the Old

Ok, so I did something a little crazy. Not sure how you're all gonna feel about this one but lets just say.... the locks are gone.

Yup you heard me, I cut my hair.

To be completely honest, I've already fallen in love with it. I needed a change, something a little more chic. New Year, New Me, right?....yuck

Recently I have had a lot of readers ask me where I get my hair done and this would be where all the magic happens

FiHair, The Salon.

I have been going to FiHair for a couple years now and only have good things to say. Aside from a fresh atmosphere and talented hair dressers, they always know when to leave a little room for fun. Anthony Leoni, my stylist and long time family friend always does wonders when it comes to cutting my hair.

Being a family business for over 40 years the creative and well educated team established as Leoni's hair designs. Since then they have merged with FiHair and have gained incredible growth and success in the styling industry.

 Happy Holidays Boys,

You really didn't think I was going to forget all about Christmas, now did you?

Well it's better late than never and over here at Double Tee's, we do Christmas a little different. Being Jewish and all, (the most non-conventional of them, I must add.), I was always given the choice to celebrate if I wanted.  But c'mon, if you are going to compare a joyful old man who leaves presents under a tree to some dreidels. Prepare to loose quickly. I have always loved the idea of Christmas... decorating, giving gifts, seeing the genuine smiles of your loved ones. It's really something beautiful.

As I grew older, being an only child, I always wished I had a big family to come together with.. still not complaining about the attention I got from my mom.....  interesting family dynamics was just something I had the pleasure of being born into.

This time of year I would normally be in Florida, where most of my family is. Although I didn't have the ability to make it there this year, I couldn't be more happy to spend it with my mom or best friend, (which ever you'd like to call it), eating some nice ass Chinese food. God, this could be a Seinfeld episode....

Double Tee's would love to know what our readers are up too for the holidays and more importantly what are you wearing???

OK OK, now that I have bored you all with my mushy Christmas post, can we talk clothes?

I teamed up with Lamania on this holiday outfit.. the minute I walked into work one day I snatched up this Eiffel Tower sweater as soon as I could get my hands on it. The detailed beading, first of all had my jaw on the ground, but secondly, I go nuts for a little quilted Chanel look.

I paired it with these great trousers, the radiating blue that comes off of them can brighten up any day. Hoping to bring some life back into the streets of Toronto, it was really the accessories that made this outfit. Other than almost freezing without them, I couldn't help but fall in love with the warm, cozy feel that came with these pieces. Nothing adds more of a 'euro-chic' feel like a little fur and glitter.

If you fell in love with these pieces as much as I did get your butts over to Lamania before they sell out. While receiving new accessories weekly, don't miss their Christmas Paris Collection.

Not having everything allows one to set standards on what their future holidays will look like.

Wishing you a very safe and happy holidays in which ever way you decide to spend them.

From your family at Double Tee's

Halloween is just around the corner and I'm sure just like everyone else you are still running around finding last minute pieces to complete your look. As Halloween is one of my personal favourite holidays, DOUBLE TEE'S was more than excited to find a way to combine fashion and costumes while still being affordable.

I didn't want to go along with the generic, 'either I'm gonna be a cat or a slutty cat' costume, so when I came by TIM BURTON'S MAGICAL FASHION, all I had envisioned of Halloween, was right before my eyes.

If you haven't already looked at TIM burtons creation of combining ART FASHION AND HORROR, do yourself a favour and go..... then, can someone tell me where all the cool costumes and candy WENT? I don't know whose idea it was for girls to strut around half naked, in 10 degree weather like they've got it or something. Don't get me wrong, we have all been subjected to the fun of looking hot and being able to dress as someone you're not. Although if you are going to be risky, please dear god BE UNIQUE about it...

This year, Double Tee's hopes to tone down the pressure a bit for us ladies and spark your creative side. Take a look at our recreation of Alice & Wonderland to see how you can use everyday pieces while still looking fabulous for Halloween.

These past couple of days, BMO has hosted yet another fabulous week of new spring collections for 2015. Each and every runway show expressed the unique aspects of art through everyday pieces.

The upcoming trends for the spring season seem be transparent blouses and baggy trousers with extra waist space. On the runway, Mackage sported rather athletic looks with some beautiful pieces of leather (and by the way have me drooling over their S/S '15 collection).

Mix and matching with patterns in upcoming seasons gives Double Tee's an amazing ability to bring you outfits to spark your inspirations. Look back for more fall looks and ways to dress for Halloween right out of your closet.

In honor of the annual MasterCard Fashion Week, Double Tee's felt it would be a shame not to take the opportunity to give you a feel for what’s coming up in the next seasons. I love buying pieces that I will be able to wear more than once in a number of different fashions. Don't get me wrong being a Jenner would be all nice and dandy having a different outfit for every day of the week..... But probably not. So here some looks including plaid prints and baggy waistlines perfect for upcoming seasons.

Warm Welcome From Double Tee's

The building of Double Tee's has been in motion for a few

months now and I am extremely excited to announce it's

official launch. We all know that beating Toronto blues as

winter quickly rolls in isn't easy, So come along for the ride

and find cool places to shop, eat and explore.

I'm Chloe Sugar, the creator and mind behind Double

Tee's. In all honestly, I was the kid who always

complained about Toronto, asking my mom why we

lived here and more importantly why we were staying

here. I have always dreamed of traveling and moving to

place where people actually smiled back soon to

realize that leaving as quickly as I wanted wasn’t an

So rather than becoming morbidly depressed in a place I

didn't want to be in.

(Which may or may not have happened anyway),

I became faced with the decision to continue on, or make a change.

And that is exactly what Double Tee's will be for our readers.

A place of familiarity and openness, a place to feel comfortable when

one is not.  I have always been extremely interested in fashion, history

and art, most of which will shine through in the upcoming posts.

So call Double Tee's your second home, a place of inspiration or just to

find unique places to shop, eat and explore. So let loose and show your true colours.

We sure will.
